Non-Profit Website Redevelopment

DaHunt for the Cure, located in Westchester County, NY, supports numerous charities for children and adults in the local community. DaHunt for the Cure has an annual Sporting Clay Shooting Event to raise money for research and finding a cure for illnesses. Each year they choose a charity to be highlighted.

DaHunt for the Cure's website was built approximately 10 years ago and lacked the user experience, functionality and appearance of today's websites. Each year the site was updated with information on their upcoming annual event. This year we discussed upgrading the site to a new level.

DaHunt for the Cure's goal for their new site was to provide an improved user experience to include: a gallery section to showcase their annual event photos and videos by year, a testimonial page, a better way to show their sponsors and charities, and easy access to their downloadable event flyer.

The Process

IMG reviewed several WordPress templates and found multiple we thought were ideal for this non-profit site. Once presented, DaHunt for the Cure selected our first template choice and we began to build the site.

We repurposed the content that existed on their current site and made a list of items we needed from DaHunt. We used the most recent event's professional photography throughout the site, which brought the pages to life.

A call-to-action (CTA) banner was added on all pages, providing the user with the upcoming event dates, a register now button and access to the event flyer. Charities and sponsors logos were prominently displayed on the homepage with links to inner pages. New videos and photos were showcased in a gallery page, using functionality to allow the user to view by "year".

DaHunt for the Cure has another website where event participants and sponsors can register and donate. We linked the two sites together with a Register Now CTA and updated the second website with the most current images and content.

The Result

Charlie and Diane, the founders of DaHunt for the Cure were thrilled with their new site. The content is now current, the appearance more inviting, and the user experience improved with a more defined navigation and CTAs on every page.

Updating the new WordPress site on the backend is now user friendly and since it requires updating annually; adding in new photos, sponsors, charities and the event flyer, does not require coding, resulting in a more cost efficient process.

“Diane and I want to thank IMG Digital for building and creating our new DaHunt for the Cure website.
